This Privacy Policy covers the use of the RummagePad web site and explains to you how your information is protected, collected and used. We hope that this information increases your confidence in the RummagePad website and understand that RummagePad may update this policy from time to time. RummagePad will provide notice of materially significant changes to this Privacy Policy by posting notice on the RummagePad site.

1. Protecting your privacy
  • We don't run banner ads, pop ups, pop unders, or any other kind of commercial ads
  • We don't share your information with third parties for marketing purposes without your explicit consent, except as specified in this privacy policy.
  • We don't engage in cross-marketing or link-referral programs with other sites.
  • We don't employ tracking devices for marketing purposes ("cookies", "web beacons," single-pixel gifs).
  • We don't send you unsolicited communications for marketing purposes.
  • We offer email anonymization & relay, to reduce 3rd party harvesting & spam.
  • RummagePad collects personal information when you register to use RummagePad services or to post content on RummagePad. At registration you are asked for your email address and certain other optional information. Account information is password-protected. Keep your password safe
  • Forums use basic webserver authentication. Close your browser to log out
  • RummagePad does not knowingly collect any information from persons under the age of 16. If RummagePad learns that a posting is by a person under the age of 16, RummagePad will remove that post.
  • RummagePad, or people who post on RummagePad, may provide links to third party websites, which may have different privacy practices. We are not responsible for, nor have any control over, the privacy policies of those third party websites, and encourage all users to read the privacy policies of each and every website visited.
2. Service-related announcements
  • RummagePad will send you a welcome/confirmation email when you sign up for RummagePad's services. Receipt of this email is required for using RummagePad's services.
  • RummagePad will send you service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so.
  • You may not opt-out of service-related communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account by emailing support@rummagepad.com from the email address you signed up with.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
When you post a message, your RummagePad ID or alias is visible to other users. If you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return. RummagePad may be required to disclose personally identifiable information under special circumstances, such as to comply with subpoenas or when your actions violate the RummagePad Terms of Service. RummagePad may disclose personally identifiable information to parties in compliance with RummagePad's Copyright Policy, as RummagePad in RummagePad 's sole discretion believes necessary or appropriate in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringement, piracy, or other unlawful activity. In such events, RummagePad may disclose name, street address, city, state, zip code, country, phone number, email address and company name. RummagePad may share aggregated demographic information with business partners. RummagePad will not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with nonaffiliated parties except as specified in this Privacy Policy to provide products or services you have requested or when RummagePad has your permission. It may be necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of RummagePad 's Terms of Service, as specified in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise required by law. RummagePad will transfer information about you if RummagePad is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, RummagePad will notify you by email or by putting a prominent notice on the RummagePad web site before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy. As part of the buying and selling process, you may obtain another RummagePad user's email address, shipping address and/or other information. Pursuant to RummagePad's Terms of Service, you have a limited license to use this information. This information should only be used for RummagePad -related communications or for RummagePad -facilitated transactions. RummagePad has not granted you a license to use the information for unsolicited commercial messages. Without limiting the foregoing, without express consent from the user, you are not licensed to add any RummagePad user to your email or physical mail list.
4. Data we collect
  • We sometimes collect your email address, for purposes such as sending self-publishing and confirmation emails, authenticating user accounts, providing subscription email services, registering for forums, etc.
  • For paid job postings, we collect contact information, such as name(s), phone/fax number(s), and address for billing purposes.
  • We sometimes collect your phone number for account authentication purposes, and may transmit it to a third party service for tele-robotic verification.
  • RummagePad does not store credit card information. Credit card transactions are transmitted to a financial gateway, and we endeavor to protect the security of your payment information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.
  • We may collect personal information if you provide it in feedback or comments, post it on our classifieds or interactive forums, or if you contact us directly. Please do not post any personal information on RummagePad that you expect to keep private.
  • Our web logs collect standard web log entries for each page served, including your IP address, page URL, and timestamp. Web logs help us to diagnose problems with our server, to administer the RummagePad site, and to otherwise provide our service to you.
5. Data we store
  • All classified and forum postings are stored in our database, even after "deletion," and may be archived elsewhere.
  • Our web logs and other records are stored indefinitely.
  • Registered job posters can access and update their account information through the account homepage.
  • Although we make good faith efforts to store the information in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public, we cannot guarantee complete security.
6. Archiving and display of RummagePad postings by search engines and other sites
  • Search engines and other sites not affiliated with RummagePad - including archive.org, google.com, yahoo.com, answers.com - archive or otherwise make available rummagepad.com postings.
7. Circumstances in which RummagePad may release information
  • RummagePad may disclose information about its users if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process.
  • RummagePad may also disclose information about its users to law enforcement officers or others, in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to: enforce our Terms of Use; respond to claims that any posting or other content violates the rights of third-parties; or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of RummagePad, its users or the general public.
8. Editing and deleting account information
You can change your RummagePad Account Information (except your username), at any time. RummagePad may send you certain communications relating to the RummagePad service, such as service-related announcements and administrative messages that are considered part of your RummagePad account. You can delete your RummagePad account by emailing support@rummagepad.com. Please note that your identification, billing and contact information may remain in RummagePad's records for some period. RummagePad limits access to personal information about you to employees who RummagePad believes reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs. Your RummagePad Account Information is password-protected. If your personally identifiable information changes you may correct or update it by making the change on Your RummagePad Page. You may delete or deactivate your account by emailing Customer Support at support@rummagepad.com or by postal mail at the contact information listed below. RummagePad will respond to your request within 10-20 business days
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
If the privacy policy is changed, RummagePad will post changes so that you are aware of those changes. RummagePad reserves the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If RummagePad makes material changes to this policy you will be notified here, by email, or other places RummagePad deems appropriate.
